I guess I tempted fate in my last post. After talking of resolve and focus, the last two weeks were such mad max weeks at work that they took matters out of my hand. I had no option but to put my head down and go hard at issue after issue. So the weekend, when it arrived, was a relief. I had a cousin visiting so did the usual touristy stuff. That’s something you get used to pretty quickly, living in San Diego, because it’s a destination of choice for many. It’s funny at times how those occasions turn out to be the times I explore the town the most. Coupled with work, it made for a busy weekend, but on the bright side, I got to take pictures at some amazing corners.
Also, was a good chance to strut around pieces from a new store I recently tried out: Goodnight Macaroon. It’s actually a store that I came across due to the lovely, supportive community of fellow fashion bloggers, and as one would imagine, the crew recommended a great one!
Goodnight Macaroon, from my experience, doesn’t have a huge collection but what they lack in size they more than make up in effective in-vogue style statements. I say ‘effective’, because that’s something that created an impression on my mind while going through the website. They have a pretty select collection of functional pieces.
The first piece, shown below, is an elegant ivory top with crochet lace details. I have been pairing it up with different pieces like shorts, denim, skirts.
Here are the outfit links to the piece above:
Ivory Crochet Chiffon Blouse from Goodnight Macaroon (On sale!!)
Similar black leather shorts
Vince camuto cut out sandal in sugar plum
French grey bag from Toryburch
Daniel Wellington watch (Use ‘CODEDRESSED’ to get 15 % discount. Code valid until Oct 15)
Another piece I loved from the Goodnight Macaroon collection is this dusty rose Choker Blouse above. I adore the color, for being so classy and understated. I imagine this to over time become a timeless piece in my closet.
(Unfortunately, Goodnight Macaroon updated their page and I am not able to find the same top. Below are a couple of similar choker blouses from same store.)
Blush sweater from goodnight macaroon
Choker top from Goodnight Macaroon
Tamra Cross strap pump
French grey bag from Toryburch
The next outfit is a co-ord set I picked up from the store. I adore the plaid print on this lovely shade of blue – casual and chic at the same time. I decided to pair it with a mustard colored jacket which is a perfect transitional piece for fall. I have been wearing it with a black cape blazer as well lately.
Something I love on GM are the Tuesday flash sales they have going where they mark down a lot of their good select items. So if you like their collection, get ready to love Tuesdays too.
Overall, I had a great time with GM. The pieces have worked out great so far and this weekend was a great time to try them on. The shipping process takes a little while, since they ship from Hong Kong, but apart from that the whole process was smooth. The only chink I can think of is that they don’t offer free shipping for orders less than $100. So you may want to club a few of your orders when you do.
Hope you liked the shots and the different outfits, and found something for your own self over at Goodnight Macaroon. Let me know in the comments what you guys make of it, and what you’d like to see in the next posts 🙂
