I wish you could hear it from where I am, but the sound of rain has been all over me the past few weeks in (not so) sunny San Diego. I love the rain because it reminds of me of growing up in the monsoon of Kerala, India. But the rain and the chill does throw a spanner in getting out in the right clothes. And that’s why Trench Coats have been what I swear by and swim in lately.
This is probably among the most versatile and indispensable pieces of clothing for winter. One of the things I keep in mind, maintaining my wardrobe is to have very good choices for items I can’t go without, like a pair of good sunnies, few classic bags, well fitted denim. During the cold, rainy or windy weather, a solid trench coat is that piece of clothing. A collection of them will help you breeze through the cold (see what I did there?). Nothing like a well fitted beige/camel belted trench coat to give that instant refined, sexy ‘I got my stuff together’ look. A Trench coat can pull off any look, have a girly little black/white dress and throw a beige fitted coat over it or wear a comfortable jeans with a top and a crumpled trench for that grunge look.
Burberry is one of those designers who are synonymous with a great trench coat collection. Here is one of my favorite from their current collection:
While Burberry is a safe and top of the line name in trench coats, one doesn’t always have to break the bank to own an elegant and stylish piece. Here are some I have been using this winter, all of them pretty well priced 🙂
